This course was recorded using Android Studio 2.2 and 2.1.2. Android Studio is constantly being updated and if you wish to use the latest version available follow the instructions on the next videos but bear in mind later versions will look different to the version on the videos. For a smooth course experience I recommend using the same version as me for this course

Android Studio 2.2 was introduced part-way through the making of this course. Section 8 onwards is recorded with Android Studio 2.2, but earlier parts of the course use Android Studio 2.1.2. My advice would be to use 2.2 throughout as the differences are very slight (and 2.2 brings much faster compiling and running of apps), but if you want to use Android Studio 2.1.2 for the first part of the course you can download it here for the Mac and here for Windows.
